This is Bill. He's one of the 80 little monsters I drew for a poster in 2007 that didn't go to print.

I got my K'naan posters today!

They're all signed & numbered and ready to be shipped to Toronto.

Here's Jesse at 100 Sided Die. He's printing 3 of the 10 Polaris posters. Right now he's printing the poster for Patrick Watson, designed by Kirsten McCrea.

| Polaris Music Prize Poster for K'Naan |
[Sep. 3rd, 2009|01:06 pm] |
I had the pleasure again to design one of the 10 posters for this year's Polaris Music Prize. This one is for K'Naan - a Somali-born Canadian rap artist & poet. His experiences and perspective as a survivor of the Somali Civil War and upbringing in Harlem, NY & Toronto is reflected in his album, Troubadour.

This poster is a 2 color silkscreen print, 20" x 26", and has a small run of only 30 prints. My old studio mate, Jesse Purcell of Just Seeds Collective, will be printing this poster tomorrow!
Here are some random snapshots of the design process:

| working from home & why i need a laptop |
[Jul. 2nd, 2009|12:17 am] |
I was crazy stressed out last week. The internet at work was down (i hate you Primus!) so I had to take the cab and bring my computer home. I worked from home for 3 days on this coffee table. It sucked! >_<

| 100 SIDED DIE |
[Jun. 30th, 2009|10:54 am] |
Let me give you a tour of the studio.

Over here on the east side is the workspace of painter/illustrator Mathieu Conway.

Across from him is Jasa Baka of Parlour Treats. She's a fashion designer who makes clothes for movies and plays.

This space is shared by two painters Natalie Dionne and Kayla (i think that's her name!)

Over here you'll find Kirsten McCrea from Edmonton. She comes here to work on her paintings.

Behind this door is the jam space of the bands Aids Wolf, Chernobyl Cha Cha and Panopticon Eyelids

power nap area

This is our store, which opened last Saturday. We will open our store to the public on the last Saturday of each month. You can come here to meet the artists, buy posters, dolls, toys, jewellery, paintings, books, zines, comics, etc.

my ikea corner

Over here on the west side of the studio is where you will find the artists + screenprinters Seripop, Jesse Purcell of Just Seeds Collective, Jacinthe Loranger and Catherine/Nomn Ryn.
